Completed in 2020, URAM Extreme Park is the largest extreme park in Russia and Europe.
URAM is not only a professional training site for Olympic athletes, but also a completely open and free public space, one of the few dual-purpose extreme parks in the world. URAM Extreme Park realizes the vision of sports architecture as a separate category of Russian architectural art.
When the designers built the skate park, they created not only an area of the site that is hundreds of square meters, but also a concrete sculpture (many of which were built by professional riders and champions of extreme sports). As a result, the entrance includes a gliding loop, as well as an amphitheater for athletes to entertain, both as a place to express themselves and showcase. In addition, URAM Extreme Park is the first public space in Russia with a street-style skatepark.
The design of URAM Extreme Park is very simple and attention to detail. The side decoration of the street square elements is inspired by the mosaic panels that symbolize Soviet art; At the same time, the design of the streetball area reflects the sunset colors observed on the embankment of the Kazanka River in summer.
URAM Extreme Park was built with the aim of improving the local ecological situation and increasing biodiversity. The extreme facilities are made of natural materials, such as the larch façade of the sky park, and the hard coating of the streetball area with safety coatings that do not emit harmful substances into the environment. In addition, to ensure the safety of park users, movable flower beds and green spaces are used around the site instead of hard fences.
URAM Extreme Park has become a popular public space for everyday visits: around 13,000 visitors visit the park every month, and another 4,000 riders train regularly in the park. At the same time, URAM fits perfectly into the urban landscape infrastructure.
Covering an area of almost 8,000 square meters, URAM's sports center features two floors of extreme sports areas (sky park, street square, concrete bowl and skatehouse) and cultural and entertainment spaces open to all.
